“The Philippines Pride”

 Filipinos are well known in different things like in sports, hospitality, entertainment and many more. And of course Filipinos are also known for their love and passion in cooking or in different variety of food dishes, food recipes etc. Of all the Filipino foods dishes the most popular and considered as the national dishes for Filipinos is the “ADOBO” when can be in different meat variety chicken, pork , turkey meat etc. Adobo is a mixture of vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, peppercorn and ginger. Most of the Filipina housewives know how to cook adobo because of the fact that is cheap and easy to cook. But for some who doesn’t know how to cook a perfect Adobo here is a step by step procedure that you can count on:


The Ingredients:
·         2 tablespoons thinly sliced fresh ginger root
          1/2 tablespoon black peppercorns
·         1 (3 pound) whole chicken, cut into 8 pieces
·         1/2 cup soy sauce
·         3/4 cup distilled white vinegar
·         1 bulb garlic, peeled and crushed

The Procedure:
First thing to do is mix the chicken (or any kind of meat you want), soy sauce, ginger, vinegar, garlic, and peppercorns in a casserole or a pot. Let it boil in a medium heat temperature. Once it boils, reduce temperature to a simmer level. Cover the casserole/pot and boil for 30 minutes, basting the chicken/any meat occasionally. After 30 minutes, remove the pot cover and cook until juice has condensed to half.
Then take away chicken (any meat) from the pot to a serving plate. Pull the liquid from the pot to remove all the food particles, and set aside. Serve chicken hot over steamed rice and drizzle with reserved sauce. Good for 6 serving.
